Omnisend's powerful email/SMS marketing tool that has seen increasing popularity among Shopify merchants in recent years. However, even the best customer marketing platforms will yield little results without a large list of customers that care about your business.
Alia is a Shopify app that educates customers about your business and rewards them for engaging with your brand. Alia’s new Omnisend integration automatically sends any contact info collected on your site. This guide will show you how to set up the integration in just a few minutes, and how the combination of these two customer marketing tools can take your e-commerce business to the next level.
Alia is a conversion and customer engagement tool embedded on your Shopify storefront. You can create multimedia lessons to educate users about your business and products, and ask questions to keep users engaged and invested in your business’s story. You can also include poll questions, which collect information about the backgrounds and preferences of your users.
In return for learning about your company, the user can earn a reward in the form of a small discount at checkout. It’s a win for everybody — you get a new customer that’s invested in your company’s story, while the customer enjoys their savings and feels more confident in their purchase.
Before they can claim their discounts, users are asked for basic contact info, like name, email address, and/or phone number based on your settings. When you integrate Alia with Omnisend, we can automatically send this data to Omnisend with no effort on your part. Here’s how to set up the integration.
Integrating Alia with Omnisend only takes a couple minutes to set up. Once enabled, you can forget about it — we send all user data over automatically.
To get started, sign into Omnisend and navigate to your API Keys settings page. You can find it by going to Store settings → API keys.
Once there, click Create API Key.
Choose a name for your key, such as “alia”.
The Alia + Omnisend integration requires at least the Contacts and Events permissions. However, we recommend keeping all of them checked so that any additional features that are added to the integration will work without needing to create a new key.
Finally, click Create in the bottom right, and copy the API key that was generated. You’ll need it for the next step.
From your Alia dashboard in Shopify Admin, navigate to the Integrations page.
Next, under Omnisend, click the green Connect button. In the dialog that opens, enter the key you just copied, and click Save.
We’ll test your key to make sure that it works. If you get an error, double check that you’ve created a key in Omnisend with full permissions, and you’ve copied and pasted the entire key into the text box.
If your key words, congrats — you’ve successfully integrated Alia with Omnisend!
